Alpha Readers for "The Spirit Girl"
June 06, 2017
Hello Guys! Finally posting again! :)
As you all may know I went on a weekend trip to the mountains, this for me was a MUCH needed break and when I came back I was flooded with inspiration thus the beginning of this book. "The Spirit Girl" but truth be told I am only 3,5000 words in.
Well Guess what? I need Alpha Readers! I need companions for a crazy journey full of obstacles and of course fun. If you are still interested XD read on.
So anyway what is this book about? Here is a synopsis I whipped up.
River has an unusually strong
awareness of the spiritual world. While this brings her closer to God it also
makes for unexplainable anxiety and depression. To make it even harder her
parent’s marriage is falling apart and her brother is straying down the wrong
path she almost got lost on. When her neighbor friend calls with a job opportunity
at the local Starbucks, River instantly grabs it. Anything is better than
sitting idle and listening to the demons inside. On her first day she is amazed
to find a group of college guys who use the coffee shop as their weekly meeting
place for ministry. She begins to get involved and gets to know Eli. Their friendship
grows through their outreach ministry to the nearly homeless people that live
at the local motel. At least that’s what River thinks, Eli is slowly falling in
love with her. While Eli grew up in a warm Christian family all his life, River
has gone through a young adulthood filled with turmoil and is hesitant about
entering any sort of relationship again. A story about the little voices and
big worries that play through our heads, but most importantly a story about the
voice that roars louder than any of our fears.

*pats your back for getting this far* Well <3 It would really, really mean a lot if you could sign up. I need this encouragement and advice as I write this book and it's a chance for you to be part of this process! :) I tend to get lost in my doubts exactly like River, almost everything River is going through is something I have experienced. And to get this book out, I need someone to tell me this project is worth it and help me in this writing process. I'm good at writing short things but *whispers* I suck at writing books, I get easily lost. *guilty grin*.
Well anyway that's it! Join my team! Sign up RIGHT HERE :)

That sounds so good. It sounds like she has the spiritual gift of discernment.

DeleteOooh, I LOVE COFFEEHOUSE STORIES. They have this warm cozy vibe that makes you want to envelop up in a warm blanket that just came out of the dryer. <3 I really want to alpha read, but I'm starting my online class next week alongside attending engineering camps; I'm booked :( So sorry, Anna! I hope you get enough beta readers for your novel, though.

Thank you so much! <3 And That vibe <3
DeleteIt's totally ok, even though I would have loved you to do it :) Maybe Beta reading... :)
I wish you the best of luck with your online classes and camp. I get the busyness!
God Bless

Trips to the mountains are great for inspiration! And I really like the sound of your book (seriously, it incorporates so many things I like to read about). Being an Alpha reader sounds great, but I don't think I can commit to it right now. Do post lots about your journey of writing it though, and I will cheer you on! :)
ReplyDeleteThey are! Thank you Jessica! I will definitely be posting on it! :) And I totally get it about the commitment thing. I'm the person that tends to overload and crash so you are wise for listening to your gut feeling. :)
DeleteHi! Thank you so much for your comments, they always make my day. I allow anonymous users to comment on my blog, but any crass, profane, pointless criticism and mean comments will be deleted. Remember to check back or click notify because I reply to all of my comments!
